Study on CO2 foam fracturing model and fracture propagation simulation

Ziyuan Cong et al.

Summary: In this paper, a CO2 foam fracturing fracture propagation model with temperature-pressure-phase coupling is established. The results show that improving the CO2 foam quality can significantly enhance the fracturing effect, and the fracture propagation is significantly affected by injection temperature.

Numerical investigation of debonding extent development of cementing interfaces during hydraulic fracturing through perforation cluster

Yan Yan et al.

Summary: Perforations can damage the sealing integrity of cementing interfaces, and the CZM method can be used to simulate debonding extent. Lowering fracturing fluid viscosity and pump pressure can reduce debonding extent.

Experimental Investigation of Thermal Effect on Fracability Index of Geothermal Reservoirs

Daobing Wang et al.

Summary: This study proposed a new brittleness index model considering thermal effect based on rock mechanics testing and acoustic emission monitoring, and established a comprehensive fracability index model. The results verified the reliability of the model and showed that both temperature and confining pressure significantly affect the formation capacity of fracture networks in hot dry rocks at different temperatures and confining pressures.

Crack propagation patterns and factors controlling complex crack network formation in coal bodies during tri-axial supercritical carbon dioxide fracturing

Hao Yan et al.

Summary: Supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) fracturing is an environmentally-friendly waterless mining technology that has attracted increasing attention during the safe mining of coal resources. Laboratory tests were used to study the fracturing process of coal bodies, revealing the theoretical guidance for applying and promoting SC-CO2 fracturing in coal mines.

Characterization, controlling factors and evolution of fracture effectiveness in shale oil reservoirs

Lei Gong et al.

Summary: Fracture effectiveness plays a crucial role in shale oil exploration. This study evaluated the fracture effectiveness in the Cretaceous Qing-1 Member shale oil reservoir in Gulong Sag, China, and identified structural fractures as the most significant factor. Structural inversion, abnormal high pressure, and dissolution were found to have the least impact on fracture effectiveness.
