The combination of pTa rod and vascularized iliac bone flap transplantation is an effective treatment for improving hip joint function and preventing the exacerbation of necrosis in patients with ANFH.
Biomaterials were used in the repair and treatment of avascular necrosis of femoral head (ANFH), which has made a high clinical and social value for preserving the patient's own hip joint function. Among them, the porous tantalum (pTa) rod support technology is a minimally invasive surgical treatment for ANFH that has been applied in recent years. In this study, a pTa rod combined with vascularized iliac bone flap transplantation was used to treat ANFH. In vitro studies have shown, pTa rod implants are very close to natural bone tissue in structure and physiological and mechanical properties, and have good tissue compatibility and safety. Clinical studies have found that the combination of pTa rod and vascularized iliac bone flap transplantation can improve the hip joint function of patients with ANFH in the middle and late stages, and effectively prevent the exacerbation of necrosis, providing a new treatment for hip-preserving treatment of patients with ANFH method.
