Linear B-Cell Epitopes in Human Norovirus GII.4 Capsid Protein Elicit Blockade Antibodies

Hassan Moeini et al.

Summary: This study identified and characterized linear blockade B-cell epitopes in the HuNoV GII.4. The evolving surface-exposed epitopes over time were found to correlate with the emergence of new GII.4 outbreak variants. Molecular dynamic simulation and molecular docking revealed potential amino acid substitutions associated with immune escape and the appearance of new GII.4 variants.

Characterization of Adeno-Associated Virus Capsid Proteins with Two Types of VP3-Related Components by Capillary Gel Electrophoresis and Mass Spectrometry

Hiroaki Oyama et al.

Summary: Recombinant adeno-associated virus (AAV) is an important tool in human gene therapy, and this study identified two VP3-related components in AAV vectors using sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, capillary gel electrophoresis, and liquid chromatography-UV-mass spectrometry. The study suggests that complementary evaluation of VP components using CGE and LC-UV-MS methods is necessary for accurate quantification and understanding of VP stoichiometry in AAV vectors.

Sandip Chavan et al.

Summary: This study utilized mass spectrometry to detect SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein directly from urine of COVID-19 patients, revealing decreased levels of renal proteins associated with normal kidney function in the urine of COVID-19 patients. These findings provide insights into the pathogenesis of COVID-19.
