Efficient detoxification of Cr(VI)-containing effluents by sequential adsorption and reduction using a novel cysteine-doped PANi@faujasite composite: Experimental study supported by advanced statistical physics prediction

Mohamed Laabd et al.

Summary: The novel Cys-PANi@FAU-50 composite showed promising potential for effectively detoxifying Cr(VI)-bearing wastewaters, with an open mesoporous structure decorated with nitrogen/oxygen-containing functional groups. The adsorption behavior of Cr(VI) was well-tailored using advanced statistical physics theory, with two distinct receptor sites providing reliable microscopic and macroscopic predictions of the process. The Cr(VI) ions were adsorbed and subsequently reduced and immobilized by chelation and electrostatic interactions, showing an endothermic spontaneous process with effortless regenerability and good reusability.

Youness Abdellaoui et al.

Summary: The study investigated the removal of phosphate ions from aqueous solutions using zirconium-modified Merlinoite obtained from Mexican coal fly ash. The results demonstrated that Zr@Merl had a high adsorption capacity of 67.72 mg g(-1) and showed potential for cost-effective and reusable phosphate recovery applications.

Facile synthesis and characterization of a novel 1,2,4,5-benzene tetracarboxylic acid doped polyaniline@zinc phosphate nanocomposite for highly efficient removal of hazardous hexavalent chromium ions from water

Abdelghani Hsini et al.

Summary: This study prepared a BTCA-PANI@ZnP nanocomposite and demonstrated its good adsorption characteristics for Cr(VI) ions. The adsorption process of the composite material followed pseudo second order and Langmuir models, indicating a spontaneous and endothermic process. The study also confirmed the potential applicability of the material as an effective alternative for the removal of Cr(VI) ions from wastewater.

Enhanced photocatalytic activity of Zn3(PO4)2/ZnO composite semiconductor prepared by different methods

B. Akhsassi et al.

Summary: The photocatalytic activity of Zn-3(PO4)(2) was effectively enhanced using Zn-3(PO4)(2)/ZnO composites with different synthesis methods. The degradation of Rhodamine B dye was improved under UV irradiations, particularly with 20% ZnO in the solid-state reaction method.

Effects of fluorination and thermal shock on the photocatalytic activity of Bi2O3 nanopowders

Asmae Bouziani et al.

Summary: Fluorinated Bi2O3 nanopowder was prepared by fluorination and thermal shock of alpha-Bi2O3 nanopowder, leading to changes in crystal structure, optical properties, and photocatalytic efficiency. The substitution of O2- with F- was confirmed, altering Bi atom coordination and band structure, resulting in improved charge carrier mobility and enhanced photocatalytic performance upon F insertion. Thermal shock from different temperatures influenced the photocatalytic activity of F-Bi2O3 nanopowder, with the best performance observed after 180 min of irradiation at 500 degrees C.

Synthesis of an arginine-functionalized polyaniline@FeOOH composite with high removal performance of hexavalent chromium ions from water: Adsorption behavior, regeneration and process capability studies

Abdelghani Hsini et al.

Summary: A novel Arg-PANI@FeOOH composite was synthesized and characterized for the efficient removal of Cr(VI) ions from wastewater. The electrostatic interactions were found to be the main driving force for Cr(VI) binding mechanism on the Arg-PANI@FeOOH surface. The experimental data showed good fitness to the pseudo-second-order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm, indicating the material's potential for practical applications in wastewater purification.

Synthesis and characterization of polyaniline-based biocomposites and their application for effective removal of Orange G dye using adsorption in dynamic regime

Abdelaziz Imgharn et al.

Summary: In this study, polyaniline-modified almond and walnut shell biocomposites were designed and prepared through in situ chemical polymerization. The performance of the prepared biocomposite adsorbent in adsorbing an Orange G dye from effluents was tested using a dynamic adsorption process. The findings suggest that these biocomposites have the potential for treating wastewater.

Development of a novel PANI@WO3 hybrid composite and its application as a promising adsorbent for Cr(VI) ions removal

Abdelghani Hsini et al.

Summary: The study synthesized PANI@WO3 composite material using an in-situ oxidative polymerization method, which demonstrated high efficiency in Cr(VI) adsorption with significantly higher adsorption capacity than existing adsorbents. Even after multiple regeneration cycles, PANI@WO3 maintained excellent adsorption performance, showing great potential for wastewater treatment containing Cr(VI).
