A Distribution Optimization Method of Typical LID Facilities for Sponge City Construction

Jiayu Gao et al.

Summary: This study used SWMM model to simulate the combinations of three typical LID facilities in Xixian New Area of Shaanxi province in China, and TOPSIS comprehensive evaluation method was used to select the optimal scenario. The results showed that combined LID facilities have better regulatory effects in reducing runoff control and SS load than single LID facilities.

Biochar Selection for Escherichia coli Removal in Stormwater Biofilters

Renan Valenca et al.

Summary: Biochar's capacity to remove pathogens from stormwater is influenced by its surface area, carbon content, ash content, and volatile organic carbon content. The study also found that biochar may continue to remove pathogens after rainfall, highlighting its potential for long-term effectiveness in stormwater treatment.

Management of Urban Stormwater at Block-Level (MUST-B): A New Approach for Potential Analysis of Decentralized Stormwater Management Systems

Ganbaatar Khurelbaatar et al.

Summary: This study introduces a new approach for managing urban stormwater and applies it to a study area in Leipzig, Germany. Results demonstrate that low-impact developments (LIDs) can effectively retain and infiltrate stormwater in blocks with low soil permeability. The MUST-B method allows for simple scaling in different urban settings, aiding decision-making for decentralized blue-green infrastructure implementation.
