The electrochemical response of stainless steel surface in the presence of natural freshwater biofilm at various temperatures was studied, with observations on biofilm adhesion and evaluations using cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, and polarization studies. This research is expected to aid in the development of biosensors for industrial applications.
The electrochemical response of stainless steel surface in the presence of natural freshwater biofilm was investigated at various temperatures such as 30 degrees C, 40 degrees C, and 50 degrees C. The adhesion of biofilm on 316L SS was also observed by means of potential shift (E) of 316L SS. Cyclic voltammogram, impedance spectroscopy and polarization studies were used to evaluate the electrochemical behavior of 316L SS in the presence of biofilm. The present study will be useful to develop biosensors for industrial applications.
