Fibre length and loading impact on the properties of glass fi bre reinforced polypropylene random composites

Summary: Polypropylene composites with short glass fibers were fabricated by melt mixing, showing mechanical and thermal properties dependent on fiber size and content; the highest yield strength was observed at 10% fiber content with an average fiber length of 1mm; the use of short fibers improved elongation at break and stiffness, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.
