Recent advances on the fundamental physical phenomena behind stability, dynamic motion, thermophysical properties, heat transport, applications, and challenges of nanofluids

Zafar Said et al.

Summary: The rapid development of nanotechnology in the past decade has created numerous opportunities for researchers and engineers. Nanofluids, created by suspending nanoparticles in conventional heat transfer carriers, offer significant advantages in thermal properties. This study addresses the challenge of nanofluid stability and analyzes various forces and physical phenomena affecting the stability. Stable and highly conductive nanofluids can be produced through one-step or two-step production methods, but both methods face the problem of nanoparticle agglomeration.

Synthesis, stability, thermophysical properties and AI approach for predictive modelling of Fe3O4 coated MWCNT hybrid nanofluids

Zafar Said et al.

Summary: The study investigated the stability and thermophysical properties of water-based magnetite (Fe3O4) material coated on multiwalled carbon nanotubes hybrid nanofluids. Experimental validation was done using X-ray diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometer, and scanning electron microscopy. Neural network models were built to establish the relationship between input parameters and output properties, showing significant accuracy.

Heat transfer, entropy generation, economic and environmental analyses of linear fresnel reflector using novel rGO-Co3O4 hybrid nanofluids

Zafar Said et al.

Summary: This study successfully enhanced the heat transfer performance of a small prototype linear Fresnel reflector by using rGO-Co3O4/water hybrid nanofluids, which resulted in increased thermal efficiency, improved exergy efficiency, and higher temperatures. Additionally, the nanofluids improved heat transfer coefficient, thermal conductivity, and other performance parameters, while reducing entropy generation and electrical energy consumption.

Summary: This article presents experimental studies on the heat transfer coefficient and friction factor of fly ash nanofluid in a copper tube, with the highest thermal conductivity and viscosity ratio observed at 2 vol% concentration at 30℃. Nusselt number and friction factor with a significant increase at 2.0 vol%, and the total entropy generation decreases with an increase in Reynolds number. The experimental results are compared with CFD results, showing good agreement.
