Summary: Osimertinib is effective in treating non-small cell lung cancer patients with EGFR mutations. This study monitored EGFR C797S mutation during osimertinib treatment, detecting C797S in 15.4% of patients. Serial cfDNA evaluation revealed changes in EGFR mutations before disease progression.

Summary: This study demonstrates the value of using ddPCR to detect and quantify the EGFR T790M mutation in liquid biopsies, suggesting that repeated ddPCR tests in cfDNA may reduce the need for tissue re-biopsy in patients unable to provide suitable tumor tissue samples for molecular analysis.
