Diluted chemical bath deposition of CdZnS as prospective buffer layer in CIGS solar cell

F. T. Munna et al.

Summary: In this study, CdZnS thin films were deposited on soda-lime glass substrates using dilute chemical bath deposition technique. The research investigated the structural, morphological, and optoelectronic properties of the films as a function of different Zn2+ precursor concentrations. The results showed that the optical transparency of the film is influenced by Zn2+ concentration and the bandgap values varied from 2.42 eV to 3.90 eV with different Zn2+ concentrations. Moreover, the electrical properties indicated an increase in film resistivity with higher zinc concentrations.

Effect of Cd2+ Molar Concentration in CdxZn(1-x)S Thin Film by Chemical Bath Deposition Technique Using Alternative Sulfur Precursor

K. Nurhafiza et al.

Summary: Ternary semiconductor CdxZn(1-x)S thin films were prepared using N-methyl thiourea as a sulfur precursor via chemical bath deposition. The molar concentration of CdSO4 was varied to investigate its effects on morphological, structural, and opto-electrical properties of the films. Higher CdSO4 precursor concentration resulted in more CdS formation in the CdxZn(1-x)S films, with varying bandgaps and resistivity values.

Efficiency enhancement of CIGS solar cell by cubic silicon carbide as prospective buffer layer

M. K. Sobayel et al.

Summary: Cubic Silicon Carbide (3C-SiC) is considered as a potential material for thin-film solar cells due to its wide bandgap and non-toxic properties. A study was conducted to investigate the performance of 3C-SiC as an alternative to conventional CdS buffer layer in CIGS solar cells, resulting in a maximum efficiency of 25.51% with optimized buffer thickness and conduction band offsets. The research also focused on studying the impact of temperature on interface recombination centers and determining the acceptable defect density for the proposed cell structure.
