Carbon dots-based fluorescence and UV-vis absorption dual-modal sensors for Ag+ and L-cysteine detection

Summary: The use of fluorescence/UV-Vis absorption dual signaling probes is an effective approach to improve the reliability of carbon dots-based sensors. Orange emissive CDs were utilized as dual-functional probes for selectively detecting Ag+ and L-Cysteine with low detection limits. The CDs demonstrate excellent performance in selectively detecting intracellular changes of Ag+ and L-Cys, making them ideal for potential applications in environmental survey and biological assay.

The stability of CIP and Ag(I) from AgNPs was evaluated, showing potential applications for environmental monitoring and highlighting the importance of electrochemical and ecotoxicology approaches in preserving environmental health.

Rapid microwave-assisted green synthesis of guanine-derived carbon dots for highly selective detection of Ag+ in aqueous solution

Summary: A simple and green synthetic approach of guanine decorated carbon dots (G-CDs) using a domestic microwave oven was established for the first time. The obtained G-CDs showed remarkable fluorescence response towards Ag+ with good linear detection and low detection limit. Density functional theory calculations confirmed the strong interaction of guanine-Ag+ responsible for the fluorescence response of G-CDs towards Ag+.
