Settling of Spherical Particles in High Viscosity Friction Reducer Fracture Fluids

Summary: This study investigates the rheological properties of high viscosity friction reducers, finding that they exhibit thermal stability at higher temperatures, but viscosity and elasticity increase significantly with temperature and concentration. In the unconfined model, the settling velocity of spherical particles decreases significantly with increasing concentration of the friction reducer due to the absence of a wall effect.
