Efficient PbS Quantum Dot Solar Cells with Both Mg-Doped ZnO Window Layer and ZnO Nanocrystal Interface Passivation Layer

Hao Ren et al.

Summary: In this study, a Mg-doped ZnO thin film was prepared as the window layer for PbS solar cells, with ZnO nanocrystals deposited on top to improve performance. The addition of ZnO NCs greatly enhanced the power conversion efficiency of the solar cells by reducing carrier recombination at the interface. The use of MZO buffer layer along with ZnO NC interface passivation technique is expected to further enhance the performance of quantum dot solar cells.

Silicon Nanowire Design for Ultrahigh Extinction by Dipole Near-Field Interaction in Transparent Solar Cells

Zhongliang Gao et al.

Summary: The study focuses on improving the light absorption and power conversion efficiency of SiNW array transparent solar cells (TSCs) by designing a single SiNW with ultrahigh extinction. Optimizing the symmetry of the SiNW achieved good extinction of natural light, resulting in an 85% improvement in the extinction of the single SiNW. Compared to cylindrical SiNW array TSCs, there was a 23% increase in light absorption and a 14.7% increase in power conversion efficiency.
