Surface chemistry of TiO2-ZnO thin films doped with Ag. Its role on the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue

M. Perez-Gonzalez et al.

Summary: Photocatalytic Ag-loaded (TiO2)(0.95)-(ZnO)(0.05) thin films were successfully synthesized using the sol-gel dip-coating method, with the incorporation and surface diffusion of Ag confirmed by secondary ion mass spectrometry measurements. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed the chemical composition and electronic structure of the samples, confirming the presence of TiO2 and ZnO. The best response in photocatalytic activity was observed in the (TiO2)(0.95)-(ZnO)(0.05) thin films doped with 2 mol% Ag.

Synergistic integration of Au nanoparticles, Co-MOF and MWCNT as biosensors for sensitive detection of low-concentration nitrite

Hua Lei et al.

Summary: Combining MWCNT with Co-MOF and dispersing small AuNPs on Co-MOF can significantly enhance the electron transport capability of Co-MOF and improve their catalytic activity for nitrite oxidation. The obtained nitrite sensor device exhibits a broad linear response range and low detection limit, showing great potential for amperometric determination of nitrite.

Ultrasensitive determination of nitrite based on electrochemical platform of AuNPs deposited on PDDA-modified MXene nanosheets

Yuhuan Wang et al.

Summary: A highly sensitive and high-performance electrochemical nitrite sensing platform was constructed based on gold nanoparticles deposited on poly (dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride)-decorated MXene (Ti3C2Tx) (AuNPs/Ti3C2Tx-PDDA). The platform displayed outstanding linear relationship, selectivity, stability, and reproducibility in detecting nitrite, with a detection limit of 0.059 μM and high sensitivity of 250 A mM(-1) cm(-2). Additionally, the platform showed satisfactory feasibility for nitrite sensing in running water and ham sausage samples, demonstrating a facile approach using two-dimensional materials and nanocomposites.
