Seasonal variation of aerosol compositions in Shanghai, China: Insights from particle aerosol mass spectrometer observations

Summary: The study revealed that while there were minimal differences in PM1 mass concentration in Shanghai across the spring, summer, and winter seasons, there were significant seasonal variations in chemical composition. Organic aerosol and sulfate were dominant contributors in summer, while organic aerosol and nitrate played a larger role in spring and winter. The results suggest the importance of controlling gaseous precursor emissions, with seasonal characteristics needing to be considered.
