Mechanistic investigation of photocatalytic degradation of Bisphenol-A using MIL-88A(Fe)/MoS2 Z-scheme heterojunction composite assisted peroxymonosulfate activation

Debashis Roy et al.

Summary: A green synthesis method was employed to synthesize a MIL-88A(Fe)/MoS2 composite photocatalyst for degrading BPA in water. 20% MoS2 doping resulted in optimal activity, increased surface area, and abundant active sites. The excellent photocatalytic activity was attributed to suitable heterojunction formation and efficient Z-scheme heterojunction.

Enhanced defect oxygen of LaFeO3/GO hybrids in promoting persulfate activation for selective and efficient elimination of bisphenol A in food wastewater

Jiana Jing et al.

Summary: The LaFeO3/GO hybrids demonstrated high efficiency in selectively capturing and efficiently removing BPA in food wastewater, thanks to the hydrophobicity of benzene rings in GO and the synergistic effects between La and Fe boosting the generation of radicals. The remarkable performance in removing BPA and TOC suggests potential applications for other organic contaminants in various waters and wastewaters.

Superior performance of ZnCoOx/peroxymonosulfate system for organic pollutants removal by enhancing singlet oxygen generation: The effect of oxygen vacancies

Jujiao Zhao et al.

Summary: This study successfully prepared Zn-doped Co oxides for efficient generation of O-1(2) in PMS activation. The presence of oxygen vacancies in ZnCoOx was found to play a crucial role in the generation of O-1(2). The optimized ZnCoOx showed significantly improved removal efficiency for Rhodamine B compared to undoped samples and commercial Co3O4.

α-FeOOH quantum dots impregnated graphene oxide hybrids enhanced arsenic adsorption: The mediation role of environmental organic ligands

Md. Nahid Pervez et al.

Summary: This study investigates the adsorption potential of iron oxide minerals modulated by organic ligands and compares the adsorption performances for arsenic species. The structural properties of the iron oxide hybrids significantly changed with organic modulation, leading to different arsenate and arsenite adsorption performances. The adsorption mechanism on alpha-FeOOH QDs@GO suggests that hydroxyl and acetate ligand exchange are the main pathways for arsenic adsorption.

High-efficiency degradation of bisphenol A by heterogeneous Mn-Fe layered double oxides through peroxymonosulfate activation: Performance and synergetic mechanism

Li Li et al.

Summary: The Mn-Fe bimetal catalyst showed excellent activation properties in degrading BPA and COD efficiently, along with outstanding reusability and stability. The synergistic effect and electron transfer between Mn and Fe, as well as the importance of surface hydroxyl groups for promoting electron transfer, were confirmed through experiments and analyses. The presence of Mn and Fe active sites and hydroxyl groups on the Mn-Fe LDO surface efficiently promoted electron transfer, accelerating the redox cycles and generating main radicals for the degradation process.
