The influence of various frequency chorus waves on electron dynamics in radiation belts

Summary: The non-adiabatic behavior induced by chorus-electron interaction plays a significant role in radiation belt dynamics, with the effects largely dependent on the frequency distribution of the waves. Numerical simulations regarding different frequency chorus waves reveal varying impacts on electron dynamics, with energy diffusion being dominant for certain frequency ranges and pitch angle diffusion becoming comparable in others. ELF chorus waves below a certain frequency threshold exhibit high pitch angle diffusion rates, potentially leading to scattering losses.
