Improving the Overall Properties of Circularly Polarized Luminescent Materials Through Arene-Perfluoroarene Interactions

Direct Visualization of Chiral Amplification of Chiral Aggregation Induced Emission Molecules in Nematic Liquid Crystals

Summary: This study provides a systematic exploration of chiral amplification of chiral aggregation induced emission (AIE) molecules in liquid crystals (LCs) from direct visualization of their co-assemblies at the nano scale to theoretical calculation of the molecular packing modes on a single molecular level. The direct visualization using AFM imaging revealed that chiral AIE molecules self-assembled into helical fibers to serve as the helical template for LCs to bind, forming co-assemblies with morphologies of pearled necklaces or thick rods. Theoretical calculations suggested that chiral AIE molecules were packed into left-handed helical fibers with empty space between neighboring molecules, providing binding sites for LCs.

Spontaneous resolution and absolute chiral induction of 3d-4f heterometal-organic frameworks from achiral precursors

Manting Chen et al.

Summary: The study found that in the presence of lactic acid enantiomers, three-dimensional chiral 3d-4f heterometal-organic frameworks can be formed and spontaneously resolved from achiral ligands, while in the absence of lactic acid enantiomers, the reactants randomly generated both enantiopure crystals. Shell engineering to achieve modification and assembly of atomically-precise silver clusters

Yan Jin et al.

Summary: This review summarizes the progress in the preparation and structural determination of monolayer-protected silver clusters, focusing on the strategies and methods for precise modification and hierarchical assembly of silver clusters through shell engineering. The correlations between structure-property and structure-functionality of silver clusters are discussed, with particular emphasis on the structure-luminescence relationship and the potential of silver clusters as lighting materials. The challenges and perspectives of functional silver clusters are also highlighted, aiming to inspire the development of functionality-oriented materials based on nanosized building blocks in the fields of nanotechnology and material science.

Helically chiral Pd(ii) complexes containing intramolecular PdMIDLINE HORIZONTAL ELLIPSISPd metallophilicity as circularly polarized molecular phosphors

Jinqiang Lin et al.

Summary: The carbon-centered chirality is transferred to helical chirality in dinuclear and tetranuclear Pd(ii) arylacetylide complexes, resulting in phosphorescence with high quantum yields up to 50% and dissymmetry factors in the 10(-3) scale from metal-metal-to-ligand charge-transfer excited states in diluted solutions.

Thermally activated delayed fluorescence material-sensitized helicene enantiomer-based OLEDs: a new strategy for improving the efficiency of circularly polarized electroluminescence

Meng Li et al.

Summary: A new strategy of using TADF material-sensitized CPL to improve the efficiencies of CP-OLEDs is proposed. By employing helicene enantiomers with a rigid helical pi-skeleton as emitters, the study achieved enhanced efficiencies and intense CPEL.
