NK cells and ILCs in tumor immunotherapy

Simona Sivori et al.

Summary: Innate immune cells, especially NK cells, play an important role in tumor immunotherapy by controlling tumor growth and metastasis. Various approaches have been developed, such as using IL-15 to improve NK cell function and utilizing NK cell engagers to activate NK cells. Additionally, NK cells may express inhibitory checkpoints like PD-1, which can be targeted for therapeutic use against certain tumors.

Impaired CCR9/CCL25 signalling induced by inefficient dendritic cells contributes to intestinal immune imbalance in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis

Wei Gao et al.

Summary: The abnormal crosstalk between gut immune system and liver in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) may be related to the changes in the numbers and activity of CD4+ T cells and DC subsets. This imbalance in gut immunity in NASH could be due to impaired gut chemokine receptor 9 (CCR9)/chemokine ligand 25 (CCL25) signaling pathway.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events: an updated systematic review and meta-analysis

Alessandro Mantovani et al.

Summary: Studies have shown a significant association between non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) incidence. The risk of fatal or non-fatal CVD events is moderately increased with NAFLD, and this risk escalates with the severity of NAFLD, particularly with higher fibrosis stages. These findings suggest that NAFLD may be an independent risk factor for CVD morbidity and mortality.
