Correlation between the rockburst proneness and friction characteristics of rock materials and a new method for rockburst proneness prediction: Field demonstration

Mingming He et al.

Summary: This study presents a new method for predicting rockburst proneness based on the relationship between strength ratio and friction angle, establishing the correlation between residual elastic energy index and strength ratio and friction coefficient. The method successfully predicts the rockburst proneness of surrounding rock in tunnel sections.
