CYP17 gene polymorphic sequence variation is associated with hyperandrogenism in Kashmiri women with polycystic ovarian syndrome

Sairish Ashraf et al.

Summary: The study found no significant difference in allelic and genotypic distribution of CYP17 gene polymorphism between PCOS patients and healthy controls in the Kashmiri population. However, PCOS patients with mutant genotype showed significantly higher levels of total testosterone and clinical features related to hyperandrogenism, indicating an association in this population.
