Noninvasive Precision Screening of Prostate Cancer by Urinary Multimarker Sensor and Artificial Intelligence Analysis

Hojun Kim et al.

Summary: The study introduces a method of precision screening for prostate cancer using a urinary multimarker biosensor combined with machine learning analysis. The research shows that under the best combination of biomarkers, this method can screen prostate cancer patients with more than 99% accuracy using 76 urine specimens.

Cancer cell detection device for the diagnosis of bladder cancer from urine

Melanie MacGregor et al.

Summary: The non-invasive diagnostic platform presented in this study combines microfluidic technology with PDD principles and immunocapture technology to detect shed bladder cancer cells in patient urine, achieving highly specific capture rates. In a pilot study, it successfully differentiated bladder cancer patients from non-cancer controls, showing potential for post-treatment surveillance and cancer detection in suspected bladder cancer patients.

Label-Free SERS Analysis of Urine Using a 3D-Stacked AgNW-Glass Fiber Filter Sensor for the Diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer and Prostate Cancer

Jung Bin Phyo et al.

Summary: Metabolomics has shown great potential for early cancer diagnosis, and a rapid urine analysis system based on SERS has been developed for the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and prostate cancer. The results indicate that the system has great potential for noninvasive cancer diagnosis and screening.

EAU-EANM-ESTRO-ESUR-SIOG Guidelines on Prostate Cancer-2020 Update. Part 1: Screening, Diagnosis, and Local Treatment with Curative Intent

Nicolas Mottet et al.

Summary: The 2020 EAU-EANM-ESTRO-ESUR-SIOG guidelines on screening, diagnosis, and treatment of localized prostate cancer summarize the most recent recommendations for clinical practice, including risk-adapted strategies, medical imaging utilization, biopsy techniques, patient classification, and treatment options. Recommendations include consideration of moderate hypofractionation for intermediate-risk patients and a combination of local treatment with long-term hormonal therapy for cN1 PCa patients.

Selective Microfluidic Capture and Detection of Prostate Cancer Cells from Urine without Digital Rectal Examination

Kit Man Chan et al.

Summary: Prostate cancer is a common cancer in men and current diagnosis methods are invasive and costly. This study presents a streamlined biotechnology for the noninvasive detection of prostate cancer from malignant cells shed in urine. The technology combines immunocapture and photodynamic diagnostic principles to detect cancer cells in unprocessed patient urine samples without the need for prior uncomfortable procedures.
