Jet quenching in a multi-stage Monte Carlo approach

Amit Kumar

Summary: In this study, a jet quenching model is proposed within a unified multi-stage framework, successfully demonstrating a simultaneous description of leading hadrons, inclusive jets, and elliptic flow observables. The JETSCAPE framework provides a powerful tool for setting up effective parton evolution and sets strict constraints through measurements of jet and charged-hadron R-AA.

Jet quenching and medium response in high-energy heavy-ion collisions: a review

Shanshan Cao et al.

Summary: This study reviews recent progress in using jet quenching as a hard probe to study the properties of the quark-gluon plasma in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. Special emphasis is given to the effects of jet-induced medium response on experimental observables and their implications for extracting transport properties of the QGP.

Medium-Induced Modification of Z-Tagged Charged Particle Yields in Pb plus Pb Collisions at 5.02 TeV with the ATLAS Detector

G. Aad et al.

Summary: This study measured the yield of charged particles opposite to a Z boson in proton-proton and lead-lead collisions at 5.02 TeV per nucleon pair using data from the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The results showed significant modifications in charged-particle yields in lead-lead collisions compared to proton-proton collisions, with dependencies on event centrality and Z boson p(T). The data provided new insights into the medium-induced energy loss of partons in a difficult to measure p(T) regime.

Bayesian analysis of heavy ion collisions with the heavy ion computational framework TRAJECTUM

Govert Nijs et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a model for heavy ion collisions called TRAJECTUM, which includes an expanded initial stage and a hydrodynamic stage. A Gaussian emulator is used to obtain Bayesian posterior estimates on the parameters, and these estimates are tested through closure tests and convergence studies. Finally, optimal parameter values are used to compare experimental data.

Multisystem Bayesian constraints on the transport coefficients of QCD matter

D. Everett et al.

Summary: By combining different modules, we studied the properties of strongly coupled quark-gluon plasma. Our research emphasizes the importance of validation process and the constraints and sensitivity of experimental data on the viscosity of quark-gluon plasma. We also explored the impact of different model parameters on observational results.

Predicting parton energy loss in small collision systems

Alexander Huss et al.

Summary: Medium induced parton energy loss has not been conclusively established in very peripheral heavy-ion collisions or in proton-ion collisions, but the standard interpretation of azimuthal momentum anisotropies in these systems implies some partonic rescattering.
