Dynamic performance investigation on the hydraulic-suspended passive shutdown subassembly of SFR

Xin Wang et al.

Summary: Hydraulic suspended passive shutdown subassembly (HS-PSS) is a passive safety device designed to enhance safety for pool-type sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR). The dynamic displacement performance of the hydraulic moving body (HMB) in the PSS is essential for safety during Unprotected loss of flow accident (ULOF). Mathematical modeling, hydraulic characteristics analysis, and sensitivity analysis were conducted to evaluate the performance of HMB under different flow conditions. Testing of a PSS-mockup at a water test bench validated the calculation program against experimental results.
