Genetic interactions among Brca1, Brca2, Palb2, and Trp53 in mammary tumor development

Yanying Huo et al.

Summary: In this study, the functional equivalence of BRCA1, PALB2, and BRCA2 in suppressing breast tumors was observed, along with a linear epistasis between Palb2 and Brca2. The complementary roles of Brca1 and Palb2 in mammary tumor suppression were also found. Additionally, the combined loss of BRCA1 and PALB2 resulted in high levels of ROS and increased apoptosis, suggesting a role of oxidative stress in tumorigenesis.
