Numerical solution of the partial differential equations that model the steady three-dimensional flow and heat transfer of Carreau fluid between two stretchable rotatory disks

Usman et al.

Summary: This study investigates the steady three-dimensional flow of Carreau fluid between two coaxially rotating and stretching disks and analyzes the heat transfer phenomenon. The results show that the fluid velocities increase with an increase in the disks rotation rate, while decrease with the magnetic parameter. Two different behaviors are predicted for the Weissenberg number. The temperature increases with certain parameters, such as the magnetic parameter, radiation parameter, temperature ratio parameter, Eckert number, heat source/sink parameters, and lower disk Biot number; while it decreases with the rotation parameter, Prandtl number, and upper disk Biot number.

Significance of haphazard motion and thermal migration of alumina and copper nanoparticles across the dynamics of water and ethylene glycol on a convectively heated surface

Ying-Qing Song et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of haphazard motion of alumina and copper nanoparticles on temperature distribution and thermo-migration under the phenomenon of transport along a vertical surface. The results show that at high Biot numbers and thermo-migration, with a less thick base fluid, the heat conduction of water exceeds that of ethylene glycol.

Steady flow and heat transfer of the power-law fluid between two stretchable rotating disks with non-uniform heat source/sink

Usman et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the heat transfer phenomenon of power-law fluid within two stretchable disks. Various physical parameters such as rotation, stretching, power-law index, and Prandtl number have significant impacts on velocity and temperature profiles. Overall, velocity and temperature distributions vary with changes in parameters.

Ternary-hybrid nanofluids: significance of suction and dual-stretching on three-dimensional flow of water conveying nanoparticles with various shapes and densities

Thanaa Elnaqeeb et al.

Summary: The study focused on the transport phenomena of water conveying three types of nanoparticles in a rectangular closed domain, where an increase in suction and stretching ratio led to higher vertical velocity and Nusselt number, while decreasing fluid flow, temperature distribution, and local skin friction coefficients. Higher Nusselt numbers were observed in the case of water conveying Copper oxide, Copper, and Silver nanoparticles due to their heavy densities at all levels of suction and stretching ratio.

Heat transfer enhancement using temperature-dependent effective properties of alumina-water nanoliquid with thermo-solutal Marangoni convection: A sensitivity analysis

Joby Mackolil et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the sensitivity of heat transport rate in thermo-solutal Marangoni convection of Al2O3 - H2O nanoliquid at 300 K, using a modified Buongiorno model and thermophysical models proposed by Khanafer and Vafai, to improve efficiency in welding, crystal growth, and coating technologies. The results show that the heat transfer rate is most sensitive to the Brownian motion parameter, with the modified Buongiorno model yielding lower temperature and concentration profiles compared to the conventional model.

Heat transfer in steady slip flow of tangent hyperbolic fluid over the lubricated surface of a stretchable rotatory disk

Usman et al.

Summary: The study investigates the steady slip flow and heat transfer of tangent hyperbolic fluid over a lubricating surface of the stretchable rotatory disk, considering the effects of MHD, nonlinear radiation, and non-uniform heat source/sink subject to nonlinear boundary conditions. The results show that with enhanced slip at the interface and Weissenberg number, radial and azimuthal velocities increase near the disk, while the power-law index exhibits two different trends. Additionally, temperature rises with the radiation parameter, particularly prominently for nonlinear radiation.
