Numerical simulation of transient mixed convection of water-Cu nanofluid in a square cavity with multiple rotating cylinders having harmonic motion

Nima Shirani et al.

Summary: The study reveals that heat transfer is influenced by the angular velocity of the cylinder, type of rotation, and nanoparticle concentration. Adding nanoparticles enhances heat transfer rate, but the effect of nanofluids on geometry has reduced for PEC.

Two-phase analysis of nano fl uid fl ow within an innovative four-layer microchannel heat exchanger: Focusing on energy ef fi ciency principle

Nima Mazaheri et al.

Summary: The study shows that using nanofluid in a four-layer microchannel heat exchanger can significantly enhance the overall heat transfer coefficient without increasing pressure drop. An increase in channel number leads to a more severe disruption in the thermal boundary layer, resulting in improved heat transfer performance.

A second law analysis on flow of a nanofluid in a shell-and-tube heat exchanger equipped with new unilateral ladder type helical baffles

Mehdi Bahiraei et al.

Summary: The irreversibility characteristics of a shell and tube heat exchanger fitted with the unilateral ladder type helical baffle were investigated in this study. It was found that the entropy production rates of both hot and cold fluids increased with the Reynolds number amplification, with the nanofluid containing platelet nanoparticles causing the maximum thermal entropy production. The minimum irreversibility for the whole STHE occurred for the nanofluid containing oblate spheroid particles, which is recommended for use in this STHE.

Experimental study on the influence of bionic channel structure on waste heat utilization equipment

Cong Qi et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the utilization of nanofluids on bionic surfaces in waste heat utilization equipment, finding that the heat transfer capacity of nanofluids is closely related to factors such as nanofluid mass fraction, angular frequency, amplitude, and phase shift. In terms of overall performance, a higher angular frequency, amplitude, and phase shift lead to better performance of the heat exchanger.

Mehdi Bahiraei et al.

Summary: An accurate model for predicting the energy efficiency of a single-slope solar still equipped with thermoelectric modules is developed using ANFIS and PSO-enhanced ANN. Cu2O nanoparticles are utilized in the basin, and experimental data is used for training the models. PSO-ANFIS model shows superior prediction performance compared to PSO-ANN.

Summary: This study investigates the thermo-hydraulic performance of water-Al2O3 nanofluid flow in an oval tube with different configurations of conical twisted strips. It is found that the NS-5 configuration achieves the highest Nusselt number, indicating enhanced heat transfer performance at the expense of a higher friction factor.
