Thermal management of transverse magnetic source effects on nanofluid natural convection in a wavy porous enclosure

Hudhaifa Hamzah et al.

Summary: This study numerically investigates the thermal transport of nanofluid natural convection in a wavy porous enclosure exposed to an external and uniform magnetic source. Various factors such as Darcy, Hartmann, Rayleigh, Prandtl, undulation numbers, wave amplitudes, and particle volume concentration have been examined. The results show that the magnetic field may not have a substantial role in convective thermal energy under certain conditions, and heat conduction intensity increases with high Hartmann and low Rayleigh values.

The effect of boiling in a thermosyphon on surface tension and contact angle of silica and graphene oxide nanofluids

Agnieszka Kujawska et al.

Summary: Thermosyphons are efficient heat transfer devices that can be enhanced by using nanofluids. The impact of nanofluids is most significant in the boiling process in the evaporator section, where nanoparticles tend to deposit on the heater's surface, altering the characteristics of the nanofluid.

Boiling flow of graphene nanoplatelets nano-suspension on a small copper disk

Marjan Goodarzi et al.

Summary: This study experimentally quantified the boiling heat transfer coefficient of graphene oxide-water nano-suspension in inflow boiling heat transfer regime and found that the presence of graphene oxide imposed extreme fouling thermal resistance to the surface, leading to a reduction in BHTC. Additionally, the sedimentation layer promoted the critical heat flux point while increasing heat flux and flow rate increased BHTC.

The thermophysical properties and enhanced heat transfer performance of SiC-MWCNTs hybrid nanofluids for car radiator system

Xiaoke Li et al.

Summary: Hybrid nanofluids show promising potential in the field of heat transfer fluids, with studies showing significant enhancement in thermal conductivity and heat transfer performance. The experimentally studied silicon carbide-multiwalled carbon nanotubes hybrid nanofluids as coolants in automobile engine cooling systems exhibited improved thermophysical properties, with increased thermal conductivity as volume concentration increased. The application of SiC-MWCNTs hybrid nanofluids in car radiator systems demonstrates enhanced convective heat transfer coefficient compared to pure ethylene glycol, showcasing their potential benefits in heat transfer applications.

Influence of magnetic field on boiling heat transfer coefficient of a magnetic nanofluid consisting of cobalt oxide and deionized water in nucleate regime: An experimental study

Ehsan Raki et al.

Summary: This study investigates the boiling process on a copper surface in a nucleate regime using cobalt oxide nanoparticles in deionized water. Results show that with increasing nanofluid concentration, boiling surface heat resistance increases and heat transfer coefficient decreases. Additionally, it is found that under a magnetic field, the heat transfer coefficient of pool boiling is improved at low volume fractions.

Preparation of stable TiO2-Graphene/Water hybrid nanofluids and development of a new correlation for thermal conductivity

Reza Bakhtiari et al.

Summary: The study investigated the thermal conductivity coefficient variation of TiO2-Graphene/Water hybrid nanofluid, showing that an increase in temperature and volume fraction enhances thermal conductivity. The effect of volume fraction on thermal conductivity was found to be larger than the effect of temperature, particularly at higher temperatures. A model was proposed to predict the thermal conductivity of nanofluids with a small margin of error, indicating good compatibility with experimental data.

Summary: This study investigates the exceptional thermal management abilities of Graphene Oxide (GO) nanofluid and microporous surfaces for nucleate pool boiling systems, with GO nanofluid showing enhanced critical heat flux and heat transfer coefficient on plain surfaces but thick layer formations on microporous surfaces. The analysis found that the highest critical heat flux was observed for GO on the plain surface, while the microporous surface with deionized water had the highest average heat transfer coefficient.
