Synthesis of novel coumarin containing conjugated fluorescent polymers by Suzuki cross-coupling reactions and their chemosensing studies for iron and mercury ions

Prabhas Bhaumick et al.

Summary: Conjugated fluorescent polymers containing coumarin monomers were synthesized through Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction. These polymers exhibit stability over 300 degrees C and show intense fluorescence, with P3 having a quantum yield of 0.73 in DMF. Additionally, P3 was identified as a selective fluorescence chemosensor for detecting Hg(II) and Fe(II)/Fe(III) ions in water.
