How Seasonality of Malnutrition Is Measured and Analyzed

Anastasia Marshak et al.

Summary: Seasonality is a significant source of vulnerability in human activities and natural processes, including acute malnutrition. However, there is limited evidence on the variability of acute malnutrition within and across years, leading to an overreliance on assumptions of seasonal peaks. Recommendations for study design and analysis include utilizing participatory methods, longitudinal data, panel analysis, and linking nutrition data with climatic data to improve understanding of the seasonality of acute malnutrition.
