2D materials-based heterostructure shows excellent performance in photocatalytic degradation by effectively transferring and separating photo-generated carriers. In this study, heterostructures of MoS2/graphene were fabricated for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) under natural light, surpassing the abilities of 2D MoS2 and graphene monomer materials. The optimal mass ratio of the precursors and the micromorphology of the heterostructures were also determined.
2D materials-based heterostructure has an abundant charge transport channel and shortened charge transport distance, which can realize the effective transfer and separation of photo-generated carriers. Herein, heterostructures of MoS2/graphene are fabricated for photocatalytic degradation under natural light. An excellent performance of methylene blue (MB) photodegradation is found, which surpassed the ability of the monomer materials of 2D MoS2 and graphene. Furthermore, the optimal mass ratio of the precursors and the micromorphology of the as-constructed heterostructures are also confirmed.
