Designing framework of hybrid photovoltaic-biowaste energy system with hydrogen storage considering economic and technical indices using whale optimization algorithm

Hongyue Sun et al.

Summary: This study presents an economic, reliable, and environmentally friendly designing of a hybrid photovoltaic-biowaste-fuel cell system based on hydrogen storage energy using the whale optimization algorithm. The optimized system minimizes the total net present cost and ensures reliability with the utilization of all resources and a hydrogen storage system. The proposed method outperforms the particle swarm optimization method in achieving lower total net present cost and better reliability.

Characterization of novel pyridine-derived N-heterocyclic silylenes via density functional theory perspective

Akbar Hassanpour et al.

Summary: In all cases, singlet (3s-10s) and triplet (3t-10t) NHSis emerge as ground state, showing more stability of singlet states than their corresponding triplet congeners. Regarding the orientation of silylenic center and nitrogen or phosphor heteroatoms of fused rings, the stabilizing energy for para-fused rings is more than ortho ones.

Exceptional High and Reversible Ammonia Uptake by Two Dimension Few-layer BiI3 Nanosheets

Huiyong Wang et al.

Summary: The emission of NH3 is harmful, and capturing and recovering NH3 is crucial. Few-layer BiI3 nanosheets were prepared and applied for NH3 capture, showing high uptake capacity, good recyclability, and remarkable selectivity for NH3/CO2 separation due to Bi3+-NH3 coordination interactions.

Substituent effects of fused Hammick germylenes: Estimating the stability and reactivity using density functional theory

Marischa Elveny et al.

Summary: In this theoretical survey, the impact of substituents on stability, aromaticity, band gap, atomic charge distribution, and reactivity of fused Hammick germylenes was compared and contrasted. The study revealed specific trends in the effects of substituents on different numbers and sizes of rings in the germylenes. Further experimental testing is awaited to confirm the potential of fusing heterocyclic rings to the germapyridine-4-ylidene's plane for specific electron transfer purposes.

Vibration analysis of a sandwich cylindrical shell in hygrothermal environment

Chunwei Zhang et al.

Summary: Sandwich structures, consisting of functionally graded porous core and reinforced nanocomposite face sheets, are studied for their vibrational behavior in a cylindrical shell model, where dispersion of graphene nanoplatelets and distribution of pores play vital roles. The relationship between natural frequency and rotation angle is discussed, with an increase in mid-radius to thickness ratio resulting in frequency reduction. The study's findings can be beneficial for future investigations and in designing procedures for pipe factories.

UBQLN1 mediates sorafenib resistance through regulating mitochondrial biogenesis and ROS homeostasis by targeting PGC1β in hepatocellular carcinoma

Junjie Xu et al.

Summary: The study investigated the role of ROS in sorafenib resistance, showing suppressed ROS levels in sorafenib-resistant HCC cells, along with reduced mitochondria numbers likely caused by accelerated degradation of PGC1 beta. Mechanistic dissection revealed that UBQLN1 induced PGC1 beta degradation to attenuate mitochondrial biogenesis and ROS production in sorafenib-resistant cells. Clinical investigations further indicated that higher UBQLN1 levels led to worse recurrence-free survival in patients.
