A novel method for analyzing the driving force of the bi-directional pig based on the four-element model

Chang Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the driving force of bi-directional pig through experiments and numerical simulations, proposing a new analytical dynamic model for predicting the driving force. The results are helpful for avoiding blockage accidents and optimizing pig design.

Experimental Investigation of active heating in removal of wax deposits

Elijah Bell et al.

Summary: Active heating is found to be an effective method for controlling wax deposition in offshore flow-lines, with wax deposits being removed completely, partially, or not at all at different temperatures. The majority of wax can be swiftly removed within an hour, while higher removal temperatures are needed for deposits with higher wax content. In contrast to softer wax, the removal of harder wax seems to occur in two steps, with sudden removal followed by a period of no removal before sudden removal again.
