Magnetic susceptibility in the European Loess Belt: New and existing models of magnetic enhancement in loess

Balazs Bradak et al.

Summary: Magnetic susceptibility measurements, such as low field and frequency-dependent magnetic susceptibility, are widely used in reconstructing terrestrial paleo-climate, with common models based on pedogenic magnetic enhancement and windvigour. However, increasing cases show unusual relationships between these two common loess magnetic susceptibility proxies, indicating limited knowledge about the occurrence and potential causes of the unusual behavior of magnetic susceptibility parameters.
