Common diagnoses among pediatric attendances at emergency departments

Shuen Yin Celine Yoong et al.

Summary: This study examined common pediatric diagnoses in general Emergency Departments (EDs) and a pediatric ED. It found that non-traumatic conditions were more prevalent in both types of EDs, with a higher proportion of trauma-related conditions in general EDs. The most common non-trauma related diagnoses were upper respiratory tract infection, musculoskeletal pain, and gastroenteritis, while the most common trauma-related diagnoses were fracture, wound, and contusion.
