Silurian-Devonian granites and associated intermediate-mafic rocks along the eastern Kunlun Orogen, western China: Evidence for a prolonged post-collisional lithospheric extension

Jinyang Zhang et al.

Summary: The study of representative Silurian-Devonian granites and associated intermediate-mafic rocks in the eastern Kunlun Orogen sheds light on the petrogenesis, multiple magmatic events, and potential extensional events after post-collisional magmatism and asthenospheric upwelling.

In situ pyrite sulfur isotope and trace element analyses of the world-class Dachang gold deposit, northern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau: Implications for metallogenesis

Wei Zhai et al.

Summary: Dachang is a world-class gold deposit with high reserves and grade, but the origin of the deposit and the sources of gold, sulfur, and other elements are still debated. The deposit is located in black turbidites and consists of gold-sulfide-quartz veins and gold-sulfide-altered rocks, with gold mainly occurring in pyrite.

Central China Orogenic Belt and amalgamation of East Asian continents

Yunpeng Dong et al.

Summary: The Central China Orogenic Belt (CCOB) consists of multiple important orogens that record the continental collision history of the North China, South China, Qaidam, Tarim and Qiangtang Blocks. From around 550 million years ago, the breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent led to the formation of the Proto-Tethys Ocean, and subsequent processes such as spreading and subduction shaped the evolution of the CCOB. The CCOB has undergone a complex tectonic evolution from the early Proto-Tethys to the later Paleo-Tethys domains, leading to the formation and closure of various oceans and back-arc basins.

Genesis of Harizha Ag-Pb-Zn deposit in the eastern Kunlun Orogen, NW China: Evidence of fluid inclusions and C-H-O-S-Pb isotopes

Xingzhu Fan et al.

Summary: The Harizha Ag-Pb-Zn deposit in NW China experienced two stages of ore genesis with distinct mineralization characteristics and various types of fluid inclusions. The ore-forming process was likely influenced by magmatic-hydrothermal fluids and may have a magmatic sulfur affinity.

Texture, trace elements, sulfur and He-Ar isotopes in pyrite: Implication for ore-forming processes and fluid source of the Guoluolongwa gold deposit, East Kunlun metallogenic belt

Xing-Hui Li et al.

Summary: The study investigated the ore-forming fluids and processes in the Gouli goldfield through a comprehensive analysis of the texture, geochemistry, and isotopes of pyrite. Four distinct types of pyrite were identified, indicating evidence for a multi-stage hydrothermal fluid evolution. The findings suggest that multiple pulses of ore-forming fluids were exsolved during sequential episodes of primarily crustal-derived felsic magmatism with lesser mantle influences.

Geochronology, geochemistry and geological significance of the Early Devonian bimodal intrusive rocks in Wulonggou area, East Kunlun Orogen.

Zhang Liang et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the petrology, geochemistry, zircon U-Pb ages, and Sr-Nd-Hf isotopes of the bimodal intrusive rocks in the Wulonggou area of the East Kunlun Orogenic Belt. The results showed that the bimodal intrusive rocks are mainly composed of olive gabbro, gabbro, and alkali granite, with formation ages in the Early Devonian. The geochemical and isotopic data revealed different magmatic sources for the acidic rocks and the mafic rocks, indicating a post-collision extension setting in the Early Devonian in the Wulonggou area.
