Origin and classification of the Late Triassic Huaishuping gold deposit in the eastern part of the Qinling-Dabie Orogen, China: implications for gold metallogeny

Summary: The Huaishuping gold deposit in central China is structurally controlled and has a resource of around 32 tonnes with an average grade of 5.5 g/t Au. Isotopic analysis suggests that the hydrothermal fluids were derived from metamorphic fluid, but the source of gold remains uncertain. Re-Os dating indicates an age of 202 +/- 8 Ma for the gold mineralisation, consistent with Triassic extensional tectonics following the collision between North and South China.

Exhumation and Preservation of Paleozoic Porphyry Cu Deposits: Insights from the Yandong Deposit, Southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt

Summary: Porphyry copper deposits in the Paleozoic era are less common, but some large ones are preserved worldwide, especially in the Central Asian orogenic belt. The study of the Yandong porphyry copper deposit in the Carboniferous era reveals at least two cooling episodes and the key factors contributing to its preservation, such as tectonic quiescence and postmineralization burial. Anomalously old apatite fission track ages integrated with age-elevation relationships can provide insights for mineral exploration strategies in the Chinese Tianshan orogens.

Molybdenum solubility and partitioning in H2O-CO2-NaCl fluids at 600 °C and 200 MPa

Summary: This study systematically quantifies the effect of CO2 on the transport and precipitation of molybdenum through high pressure experiments, providing insights into the formation of Collision-type porphyry Mo deposits. The results show that at certain conditions, CO2 can slightly decrease the solubility of molybdenum in the fluid coexisting with molybdenite, and it significantly affects fluid saturation of silicate melts.

Preservation of Xiuwacu W-Mo deposit and its constraint on the uplifting history of Eastern Tibetan Plateau

Central China Orogenic Belt and amalgamation of East Asian continents

Summary: The Central China Orogenic Belt (CCOB) consists of multiple important orogens that record the continental collision history of the North China, South China, Qaidam, Tarim and Qiangtang Blocks. From around 550 million years ago, the breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent led to the formation of the Proto-Tethys Ocean, and subsequent processes such as spreading and subduction shaped the evolution of the CCOB. The CCOB has undergone a complex tectonic evolution from the early Proto-Tethys to the later Paleo-Tethys domains, leading to the formation and closure of various oceans and back-arc basins.
