Reconfigurable Vivaldi THz antenna based on graphene load as hyperbolic metamaterial for skin cancer spectroscopy

Shima Poorgholam-Khanjari et al.

Summary: The Vivaldi antenna designed for medical sensing in the THz spectrum features reconfigurable characteristics achieved through the use of graphene slabs and silicon slabs to improve bandwidth and gain adjustability. The hyperbolic metamaterial lens is used to compensate for graphene loss and enhance the antenna gain, making it attractive for biosensing applications in identifying cancerous and healthy skin tissue in the THz spectrum.
