High-quality cutting polarizing film (POL) by 355 nm nanosecond laser ablation

Youmin Rong et al.

Summary: With the development of ultra-high screen-to-body ratio liquid crystal display (LCD) screen, the cutting quality of LCD screen polarized film (POL) has become extremely important. High-quality cutting was achieved using a 355 nm (ultraviolet light) nanosecond laser, and the cutting quality was analyzed with laser ablation process as the core. The study also summarized the cutting mechanism of POL with laser ablation as the core by analyzing the thermal decomposition process of POL, and examined the effects of manufacturing parameters on cutting quality based on experimental results and laser ablation mechanism.

An improved real-time temperature control for pulsed laser cutting of non-oriented electrical steel

Dinh -Tu Nguyen et al.

Summary: An improved method based on fuzzy gain scheduling (FGS) control was developed to precisely control the working temperature during laser cutting of non-oriented electrical steel sheets. Experiments showed that the FGS controller outperformed the conventional PID controller in terms of cutting performance and response, producing better quality kerf features through real-time tuning of control parameters.

A compact sub-hertz linewidth Fabry Perot cavity frequency stabilized laser for space application

Jun Liu et al.

Summary: This study introduces a prototype narrow linewidth laser based on a high finesse optical reference cavity, which can operate reliably in space. The research has preliminarily achieved a fractional frequency instability of 1.6 x 10(-15) @ 1s and a linewidth of 0.86 Hz for a single system.

Order-Domain-Based Harmonic Injection Method for Multiple Speed Harmonics Suppression of PMSM

Zhaoqian Wu et al.

Summary: This article proposes an order-domain-based harmonic injection (OHI) method for multiple speed harmonics suppression under both steady-state and transient conditions. The OHI method adjusts speed harmonics in real-time by a speed harmonic controller and has less calculation and simpler parameter adjustment compared with existing methods. The OHI method is effective even under transient conditions due to the extremely fast response of the speed harmonic control loop.
