Cellulose-Based Hybrid Structural Material for Radiative Cooling

Yipeng Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, a high-performance and inexpensive cooling structural material was developed by assembling delignified biomass cellulose fiber and inorganic microspheres. The material exhibited strong mechanical strength, excellent cooling properties, fire-retardant characteristics, and outdoor antibacterial performance, making it a promising candidate for high-performance cooling structural materials.

A structural polymer for highly efficient all-day passive radiative cooling

Tong Wang et al.

Summary: The authors present a hierarchically structured polymethyl methacrylate film with a micropore array combined with random nanopores for highly efficient day- and nighttime passive radiative cooling, achieving high solar reflectance and longwave infrared thermal emittance. There is still a challenge in fabricating highly efficient and low-cost radiative coolers for all-day and all-climates.

Cellulose-based porous polymer film with auto-deposited TiO2 as spectrally selective materials for passive daytime radiative cooling

Xi Chen et al.

Summary: Passive daytime radiative cooling materials can significantly alleviate energy shortages and global warming without using any energy. By introducing TiO2 nanoparticles into a cellulose-based film, excellent solar reflectivity and cooling capacity were achieved under high-density solar radiation. This novel approach has the potential to advance polymer-based cooling technology on a large scale.
