A Schiff-base receptor based on phenolphthalein derivate appended 2-furoic hydrazide: Highly sensitive fluorogenic turn on chemosensor for Al3+

Onder Alici et al.

Summary: A novel phenolphthalein-derived Schiff base fluorescence probe FF2H has been synthesized and utilized for the fluorescence "turn-on" detection of Al3+ in aceto-nitrile: HEPES system. The probe showed high sensitivity and selectivity towards Al3+ detection, making it a promising tool for metal ion sensing.

A dihydrazone based conjugated bis Schiff base chromogenic chemosensor for selectively detecting copper ion

Meman Sahu et al.

Summary: A new dihydrazone based bis Schiff base receptor L was developed for colorimetric selective detection of Cu2+ ion in methanol-H2O (1:1 v/v, pH = 7.4 in HEPES buffer) with a detection limit of 5.3 × 10-7 M. Analysis from various spectra revealed a binding stoichiometry of 1:1 and an association constant value of 1.3 × 104 M-1 for the interaction between L and Cu2+ ion. The chemosensor L can be used for recovering contaminated water samples and detecting Cu2+ ion effectively with a test kit coated with L.

A chromone based Schiff base: An efficient colorimetric sensor for specific detection of Cu (II) ion in real water samples

Nisha Tomer et al.

Summary: A new chromone based Schiff base ligand L was synthesized and successfully used as a colorimetric probe for selectively detecting Cu (II) ions, showing instant visual color change and high sensitivity. The ligand L exhibited a binding stoichiometry of 1:1 with Cu2+ ions, and demonstrated strong selectivity and effectiveness in identifying and quantifying Cu2+ ions in real water samples.
