A compact plasmonic line-up filter for sensing applications is proposed and analyzed in this study. The filter design offers high sensitivity and high quality factor, making it suitable for oil sensing and DNA hybridization detection.
Compact plasmonic line-up filter is proposed and analyzed for sensing applications using full vectorial finite element method. The suggested device is used as an oil type sensor as well as biosensor for DNA hybridization detection. The transmission through the filter design has a sharp peak at a resonance frequency which depends on the filling analyte. Therefore, the suggested oil sensor offers high sensitivity (S) of 918 nm RIU-1 with high quality factor Q=2244. In addition, the proposed DNA biosensor has high sensitivity of 1231.09 nm RIU-1, and Q=1140 with a detection limit of 5.995x10(-6) RIU. Therefore, the reported sensors have advantages in terms of high sensitivity and high quality factor with simple structure.
