Bragg scattering of surface gravity waves by an array of submerged breakwaters and a floating dock

Summary: The study analyzes the scattering of gravity waves by a rigid floating dock in the presence of porous and non-porous breakwaters of different configurations, with the introduction of structural porosity resulting in a monotonically decreased fluid force. The floating dock significantly impacts reflecting incident waves of shorter wavelength, while the free spacing between breakwaters and the dock enhances Bragg resonance. Triangular periodic breakwaters lead to maximal hydrodynamic forces due to minimal wave damping, while semi-trapezoidal and trapezoidal structures show similar benefits. Additionally, rectangular breakwaters located at a distance from the dock are more advantageous for dissipating incident wave energy compared to breakwaters located underneath.
