Evaluation of Thin Film Microextraction for trace elemental analysis of liquid samples using LIBS detection

L. Ripoll et al.

Summary: An analytical methodology combining Thin Film Microextraction with Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (TFME-LIBS) was investigated for the detection of Cu, Cr, Ni, and Pb in aqueous solutions. Experimental results showed that the use of the mould deposition procedure produced more uniform graphene oxide layers, leading to a more even distribution of the adsorbed analytes on the graphene oxide surface.

Facile synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles loaded activated carbon as an eco-friendly adsorbent for ultra-removal of malachite green from water

Esra Altintig et al.

Summary: Green synthesis ultrasonic method is used to prepare zinc oxide nanoparticles loaded on activated carbon derived from coffee waste for the effective elimination of malachite green from wastewater. The adsorption capacity of the developed Zn(OH)(2)-AC composite increases with initial dye concentration, pH, and temperature, while it decreases with higher composite dose. The Langmuir isotherm model shows better fitting than the Freundlich model, with maximum removal capacity achieved at 318 K and pH 7.0.
