Effect of climate change on potential distribution ofCedrus libaniA. Rich in the twenty-first century: an Ecological Niche Modeling assessment

Javier Lopez-Tirado et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the potential distribution of the Lebanese cedar in both current and future scenarios throughout the twenty-first century, using multiple models and algorithms to predict its habitat suitability in different time periods. It suggests managing C. libani stands through afforestation programs to address global warming in the late twenty-first century.

Environmental reconstruction and wood use at Late Chalcolithic camlibel Tarlasi, Turkey

John M. Marston et al.

Summary: Camlibel Tarlasi is a short-lived Chalcolithic archaeological site in northern central Anatolia, Turkey, with evidence for intensive metallurgy and permanent occupation. Analysis of wood charcoal from the site reveals that nearly 90% of the identifiable fragments were from deciduous oak, with a trend towards increased use of large-diameter wood over time. This suggests a dense oak-dominated woodland at the time of first use, with forests being cleared over time possibly due to diminishing fuel availability or agricultural expansion. Increased metallurgical activity in later periods may have led to a higher demand for large-diameter wood.

Modeling the natural regeneration ofCedrus libaniA. Richard in Slenfeh, Syria, using binary logistic regression

Abeer Ibrahem et al.

Summary: This study focused on analyzing the environmental factors affecting natural regeneration of Cedrus libani A. Richard in the forest of Slenfeh, Syria using binary logistic regression model. Results showed that considering the combined effect of environmental factors significantly improved the accuracy of the model.
