Positron Emission Tomography Imaging of Long-Term Expression of the 18 kDa Translocator Protein After Sudden Cardiac Arrest in Rats

Daniel C. Schroeder et al.

Summary: Neuroinflammation mediated by TSPO-expressing cells persists long-term after sudden cardiac arrest, potentially impacting cognitive functions. PET imaging and immunohistochemistry confirmed significant accumulation of TSPO in brain regions such as the dorsal hippocampus and striatum.

IDO-1 inhibition protects against neuroinflammation, oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction in 6-OHDA induced murine model of Parkinson's disease

Rupinder Kaur Sodhi et al.

Summary: In this study, 1-Methyltryptophan (1-MT) was tested in a murine model of PD, showing improvements in locomotion, motor coordination, oxidative stress, neuroinflammatory markers, mitochondrial dysfunction, neuronal apoptosis, neurotransmitter levels, and BDNF levels in the striatum. These findings suggest that 1-MT could be a potential candidate for further studies as an alternative in the pharmacotherapy of PD.
