Incoherent transport across the strange-metal regime of overdoped cuprates

J. Ayres et al.

Summary: Strange metals exhibit unconventional electrical properties such as linear resistivity, inverse Hall angle, and linear magnetoresistance. Research suggests that these anomalies in cuprates may be related to a quantum critical point inside the superconducting dome, extending beyond the critical doping level. The presence of two charge sectors, one with coherent quasiparticles and the other with scale-invariant 'Planckian' dissipators, indicates a complex behavior in the strange-metal regime.

Hidden strange metallic state in underdoped electron-doped cuprates

Tarapada Sarkar et al.

Summary: Recent transport studies have found that the low-temperature linear-in-T resistivity of strange metals, such as the metallic state of high-temperature cuprate superconductors, still persists over a finite range of overdoping. The observation that the resistivity upturn is eliminated at high magnetic field and the resistivity becomes linear-in-temperature from around 40 K down to 0.7 K suggests that the strange metal is a robust universal feature of the metallic ground state of cuprates, not confined to a single critical point in the phase diagram.

Quantum criticality tuned by magnetic field in optimally electron-doped cuprate thin films

Xu Zhang et al.

Summary: The study reveals an antiferromagnetic quantum phase transition in cation-optimized La2-xCexCuO4 +/-delta thin films under high magnetic fields, resembling the behavior at the antiferromagnetic boundary tuned by Ce doping. A spin-dependent state correlated with superconductivity is observed in the antiferromagnetic region.
