This study focused on the morphological variations in the genus Rivina from various states and islands in India, determining that R. humilis is a highly polymorphic species. In addition, lectotypes were designated for three names within the genus Rivina.
Recently described species Rivina andamanensis L.J. Singh & M.C. Naik from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, is synonymised under Rivina humilis L. We studied the morphological variations in the unispecific genus Rivina from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana (southern India), Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand (northern India) and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and concluded that R. humilis is highly polymorphic species. Lectotypes are designated for three names Rivina orientalis Moq., Rivina portulaccoides Nutt. and Rivina puberula Kunth.
