PLS-DA and data fusion of visible Reflectance, XRF and FTIR spectroscopy in the classification of mixed historical pigments

Ana Luisa de Queiroz Baddini et al.

Summary: In this study, historical pigments of green hue were analyzed using various spectroscopic techniques, and classification models were developed to automate the characterization of pigments in mixtures. The fusion of data from three spectroscopic techniques allowed for effective classification of the pigments in samples, providing fingerprints that may not be obtained using only one or two techniques.

The silver collection of San Gennaro treasure (Neaples): A multivariate statistic approach applied to X-ray fluorescence data

F. Armetta et al.

Summary: The study utilized X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF) combined with multivariate analysis to detect compositional differences and similarities among the alloys in the San Gennaro items collection. The results revealed that the collection can be divided into four large groups based on their different Ag/Cu ratios.
