Effect of Genistein Intake on Some Cardiovascular Risk Factors: An Updated Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Summary: Genistein intake significantly reduces total cholesterol, LDL-C, and SBP, but has no significant effect on DBP, HDL-C, TG, BMI, and body weight. Postmenopausal women with metabolic syndrome have a better response in reducing LDL-C and SBP. Genistein intake for more than 6 months has a greater effect on lowering cholesterol, SBP, and DBP, and increasing TG and LDL-C.
